What is Curious Cat?

You're valuable and you should be rewarded for it!

In the Curious Cat you will be offered the chance to take surveys for real cash rewards, paid via Paypal.

How does Curious Cat work?

Earn points by completing surveys and simple tasks in the app!

Once you reach the 100 point threshold you will be able to exchange your points for cash via PayPal.

I already use similar apps, can I still use Curious Cat?

Yes, but if you try to complete the same task in multiple apps you might have problems.

For example, you might have problems completing tasks, and this might affect your earnings.

If you previously completed a survey in another app, your chances of getting screened out will increase dramatically! Survey providers will try to prevent you from completing the same survey twice, and you will be screened out.

Task providers will not reward you twice for completing same task from different sources.

To make the most of our app, keep it simple and stick with us :)

Why should I share location data?

Share location data so you can get more tasks!

Allow the app to access your location so we can send you location-based tasks.

For example, if it looks like you visited a shopping centre, we might ask if you saw a poster or a billboard campaign during your visit and what you thought of it.

To enable location sharing, go to ‘Settings’ in the app menu, and turn on ‘Share location’.

What does Curious Cat do with my location data?

Location data is used to select location-based tasks for you.

Location analytics are provided by Location Sciences AI Limited, full details can be found in the Privacy Policy

You can control whether and how long to share your location. You can also stop sharing your location at any time!
However, our best advice is to always allow location access in order to receive more tasks.


To change location settings in the app, go to ‘Settings’ in the app menu, and turn on ‘Share location’.

You can also change location settings via the system menu on your device:

  • On Android devices: go to Settings > Apps > Curious Cat > Permissions and enable Location access
  • On iOS devices: go to Settings > Curious Cat > Location and set location access to Always Allow

Rewards

How to redeem my rewards?

Once you have enough points, go the the Cash Out screen and select the PayPal option.

You will be asked to enter your PayPal email address, tap 'confirm', and your reward will be processed.

If you don't have a PayPal account yet, you can just enter your email address and you will receive a message from PayPal with instructions on how to get your cash!

Can I cash out with same PayPal email address as another member?

My friend / partner / family member has a Curious Cat account, can I use their PayPal email address to cashout?

Sorry, but you cannot cash out using a PayPal email address that is already registered to another account.

This type of behaviour will trigger a security alert, and your account will be automatically deactivated.

Will my rewards expire if my account is inactive?

If your account remains inactive for greater than 90 days, your balance will expire and any accumulated or offered incentives may be declared null and void.

We will attempt to send you a reminder message approximately 7 days before your balance is due to expire.

Why did I get screened out of a survey?

Why did I not qualify for a survey?

We are constantly working to improve our profile matching algorithm to select only the surveys for which you are best qualified.

We work hard to weed out low quality surveys - we (and you!) only make money when a survey is completed successfully!

Sadly we cannot guarantee that all surveys will pay out 100% of the time, for example, even if our profile matching algorithm has found a survey that you are perfectly matched for, it is still possible that demographic quotas for that survey might be reached (and the survey closed) while you are actually in the process of completing it.

We are absolutely focused on delivering high quality tasks, and searching for new ways to improve our software every day.

Our best advice is to refresh the app regularly to make sure you have the most up-to-date tasks available, you can do this by swiping down on the home screen.

Why didn’t I get points for doing a survey?
  • You have been screened out from the survey. Sometimes surveys are looking for respondents with a specific profile.
  • The survey was closed. Surveys close once they reach the required amount of responses.

How long do I have to complete a task?

You should try to complete tasks as soon as possible after starting them.

Typically you have 1hr to complete a survey and 48hrs to complete an app download task, after this tasks will be marked as expired / abandoned and they will no longer pay.

Why can’t I re-start / resume a task?

In accordance with best practice research guidelines, you may only start a survey once, and the answers you provide cannot be changed once they have been submitted.

How can I send feedback about a task?

We are constantly working to improve the quality of the tasks that we provide.

You can help us by flagging tasks and sending task feedback in the app.

Just tap the flag icon on the task page.

Completed all the tasks and surveys?

We are constantly adding new tasks and surveys to the app.

Take part in profiling surveys in order to get a better chance to qualify for new tasks and surveys.

How often are new tasks available?

We select tasks based on the user profile that you create with us and a number of other factors such your device type and previous activity.

New tasks are activated every 30 minutes. There can be quite a lot of variation in terms of the number and type of tasks that we have available. Some days can be quiet, others very busy!

In terms of what tasks are available for each user, it depends on the tasks we have available day-to-day, and which tasks match to the user’s profile.

Tasks are available for a limited amount of time, typically from 30 minutes up to 48hrs.

What exactly is Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) and how does it work?

Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) is a technology that has the ability to recognise media content played on devices such as TV and radio.

To securely identify content, the app uses a smartphone’s microphone and digital fingerprinting software to uniquely identify media content, such as music or digital advertising.

For example, if you’re watching TV, the app will be able to identify specific adverts by using the microphone to create a digital fingerprint and match against a database of digital advertising.

ACR does NOT have the capability to recognise speech or analyse what a person is saying. The app is only able to identify known content by matching against a predefined database of digital media.

Account

Can I have more than one account?

Sorry, but you cannot have more than one account on our system. We consider this type of behaviour to be fraudulent.
We have mechanisms in place which will automatically deactivate accounts where this type behaviour is detected.

We expect you to create a genuine user profile and answer surveys and complete tasks as truthfully as possible.

In return, we do our best to deliver high quality surveys, apps, and games with great rewards!

Why do I have to sign in with my phone number?

The app requires you to sign in with your phone number in order to verify your account and prevent fraud.
We will only use your phone number to uniquely identify your user account and occasionally send SMS.
We will never share your phone number with anyone else.

How can I change my phone number?

Contact us via the support menu in the app and we will update your phone number in no time!
